(Solution) C207 Task 1 : Linear Regression Analysis

LINEAR REGRESSION ANALYSIS

  1. Business Question

The business question in this study is whether there is a significant relationship between the monthly rate of nurse participation in the well-being program and the nurse attrition rate. The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a significant relationship between the monthly rate of nurse participation and the nurse attrition rate over 36 months. Since attrition can be considered a lagging indicator of job satisfaction, the attrition rate is retroactively tied back to each nurse’s enrollment month. The program enrollment database, the HR employee database, and the program participation database were used to gather and extract categorized data for nurse attrition and program participation.

  1. Describe the data provided in the attached

Data Characteristics:

The dependent variable is the Nurse attrition rate.

The Independent Variable is the Monthly rate of nurse participation in the well-being program.

The type of Data is quantitative which is as continuous.

Quantity of Data- the dataset contains 36 observations.

Scatter plot

Based on the scatter plot outputs, there is a negative linear relationship between the monthly rate of nurse participation in the well-being program and the nurse attrition rate. The scatterplots support the assumption of a linear model, therefore indicating that the assumption of linearity is met.

(See the image in the complete solution.)

Based on the scatter plot outputs, there is a negative linear relationship between the monthly rate of nurse participation in the well-being program and the nurse attrition rate. The scatterplots support the assumption of a linear model, therefore indicating that the assumption of linearity is met.
